Schattdecor is now the sole owner of Prismadecor Sp. z o.o. in Głuchołazy, Poland. This makes Prismadecor its second fully-owned Polish subsidiary alongside Schattdecor Sp. z o.o. of Tarnowo Podgórne.
Late last year, Walter Geiger, co-owner and Senior Director of Prismadecor, arrived at the decision to sell his share in Prismadecor and retire from business. His collaboration with Schattdecor in Głuchołazy began in 1999, when the German decor paper printer acquired a 70 percent stake in his firm.
Walter Geiger originally became involved in Poland in 1992, the year in which he set up a business in Głuchołazy. It is due in no small part to his initiative, persistence and commitment that it has become a successful company working in the production of pre-impregnated foil.
At Prismadecor's year-end party in late December, Walter Geiger thanked Schattdecor for its involvement in the town of Głuchołazy and the role it has played in Prismadecor's development. He stated that he was able to retire with his mind at rest concerning Prismadecor's future, as Schattdecor has again and again proved that it takes Prismadecor's fate as seriously as that of its other subsidiaries.
In reply, Walter Schatt, President of Schattdecor AG, bade farewell to Walter Geiger in the name of the Schattdecor Group. In his speech, he acknowledged all the work that Walter Geiger had put into Prismadecor and wished him much luck, plenty of well-deserved rest and most particularly good health in the years of his retirement. Walter Schatt's speech, which included announcements regarding further investments in Prismadecor, was followed closely by the workforce. The Schattdecor president concluded his farewell speech by presenting Walter Geiger a painting of a mountain scene at Chiemsee, a lake in Bavaria, Schattdecor's home.
The whole of the Prismadecor workforce took the opportunity to say goodbye to their Senior Director, particularly those who had been with him since the very start in 1992.
Roland Auer, who has been Managing Director of Prismadecor since January 2004, will now be running the company alone. Jochen Geiger (Authorised Signatory) and Jürgen Geiger (Head of Sales/Marketing) will continue at Prismadecor in their previous functions.
