Successful participation, award-winning booth, interesting trend presentations and Russian premiere for the Made by Schattdecor quality philosophy
Schattdecor exhibited high-quality furniture and laminate flooring decors at the 5th Interkomplekt/Interzum Moscow, an international furniture components and materials show that took place between on May 16 - 20, 2006 at the Crocus Expo Exhibition Centre in Moscow.
The 104-qm Schattdecor booth attracted a great deal of attention, not only due to its favourable location and the design concept on which it was based, but because the booth team from all of Schattdecor's Russian locations is known for its sales consulting expertise. Information was provided by executives and managers from the Moscow branch office and the factories in Schatura and Penza on new and best-selling woodgrain, stone and abstract decors in the Schattdecor programme. Particular interest was shown by customers and sales leads in the Teak Palau, Moldau Acacia, Cuiba Palisander und Valais Plum decors, and the managing directors of all three Russian Schattdecor locations state that they are highly satisfied with the amount and type of visitors.
Award for booth design and general showing
Schattdecor was also one of the four exhibitors to receive a special certificate from the fair organisers commending its interesting booth design and the highly effective way it displayed its products.
Trend concept and analysis of requirements
Schattdecor's four new trend themes Modern Loft, Natural Lodge, Noble Salon and Vintage Café were dedicated a lot of space, with the design of the booth, the choice of laminate flooring and the 20 large-format decors panels all focussing on this topic. Visitors were also able to learn more about Schattdecor's new trend concept in a special leaflet on the subject.
At this year's Interkomplekt/Interzum, the Schattdecor design department took a new approach to acquainting customers with the company's new decors and its trend observations. Instead of the usual presentations given to a large audience, individual talks were held instead, starting out at the booths of furniture industry customers, where questions were answered and suggestions made on decors, surfaces, fittings and the possibility of combining decor-faced surfaces with other materials. The next step took place at the Schattdecor booth, and involved providing the respective customers with an individualised trend and decor presentation tailored to their wishes and requirements. This dual approach, which was developed and led by Claudia Küchen, Design Manager at Schattdecor AG in Thansau, Germany, met with an enthusiastic reception.
As the design manager recalls, "We noticed a great deal of eagerness for change. All our customers were very open to new ideas, and showed a lot of trust in Schattdecor and its expertise in developing decors and observing trends and its means of presentation."
She continues: "We also noticed considerable interest in teak and chocolate brown – both themes stemming from Italy – as well as decors such as Lyon Walnut and Miracosa Pear. The latter met with a lot of attention since it is a very natural and traditional-looking design yet does not make a rustic impression. When realised in the respective colouration, it is also a viable alternative to the more classic walnut".
Made by Schattdecor
Another mainstay of the Schattdecor showing was the Russian premiere of the Made by Schattdecor quality philosophy, with a special leaflet and a large poster informing customers and interested visitors about Schattdecor's quality concept. All the members of the booth team stood at the ready to answer questions on the topic.
