Despite the construction site atmosphere at the Schattdecor Group's headquarters in Thansau, employees and representatives from politics, business, the public sector and cultural circles recently joined Walter Schatt at the location for an informal evening event in celebration of his 65th birthday. Altogether some 550 guests enjoyed the view from the roof terrace of the circular administration building, newly erected as part of a €40 million project involving a new logistics building, an underground car park with 300 places, and new driveways. Work on the complex has been underway for the past two years.
The 22 m high building, which houses 38 double and triple offices and a number of conference rooms, has been built closer to the slope that runs through the Thansau grounds than originally intended, and is connected by a skywalk to the new entrance building. It will be in the cylindrical administration building – the heart of the continually expanding 1,300-employee Schattdecor Group – that the company headquarters will be coordinating work with the worldwide subsidiaries and attending to central company tasks, particularly in the technical, quality management, decor management, sales and corporate communication fields.
Work is now being carried out at full stretch on the new canteen for the 370 employees at the Thansau location, with completion of the overall complex scheduled for May 2007.
It is planned to hold the official opening shortly after, complete with an open day, guided tours of the location and a cultural programme.
