Schattdecor's crowded booth and the excellent sales leads it garnered at the Interzum confirm the success of its 12th showing at the biennial event.
"No other trade show in the world is like the Interzum. The event provides us an excellent opportunity to showcase our decor expertise on our home territory and demonstrate our 'Made by schattdecor' philosophy in memorable fashion to customers from all over the world." This is how Reiner Schulz, CEO of Schattdecor AG, Thansau, sums up the decor paper printer's showing at the furniture industry suppliers' show this May.
Schattdecor's concept for the event made a strong impression in every respect, particularly with regard to the highlight of its showing – the presentation of decors and trends in four tasteful 'trend boxes', i.e. separate sections of the booth given over to conveying the mood of new trend themes. As Design Manager Claudia Küchen recalls, "Involving four trend themes headed Star, Community, Cosmopolitan und Gourmet, our presentation concept earned us wholehearted praise from our many visitors."
At the same time, Schattdecor also showcased a formidable array of products plus some 100 furniture and flooring decors at its 600-square-metre booth. Chief Sales Executive Hartwig Dickten relates, "New designs such as Royal, Richmond Cherry, Virginia Walnut, and Siljan Birch met with lively interest, and classics of the past year, such as Valais Plum, also proved to be very popular.
Royal
The furnishings branch is currently experiencing an overwhelming return of patterning and ornamentation. Royal, Schattdecor's answer to the new interest in decorated surfaces, offers an ornamental look enhanced by a refined matte/gloss finish. With its all-over pattern of stylized arabesque tendrils, this elegant new decor is highly suited for a classical and exclusive taste in furnishings.
Virginia Walnut
Walnut is currently a major theme in furniture construction and interior decoration, whereby Virginia Walnut meets the demand for lively yet elegant reproductions of the woodgrain. Based on a typically American and distinguished-looking version of the timber, the decor offers sapwood at regular intervals as well as clearly delineated planking. Virginia Walnut creates a lively and expressive impression despite the elegance of the wood thanks to occasional slip match details.
Richmond Cherry
This predominantly straight-grained cherry decor is characterised by fine areas of sapwood. The subtle slip matches introduce a touch of liveliness and underscore the natural character of the wood, whereby the warm colouring typical of cherry fits in well with the Community theme.
Siljan Birch
This finely-structured decor is characterised by the typical fibrous character of birch, and offers distinct planking underscored by pale sapwood areas. Straight-grained sections with narrowly placed growth rings alternate with slip matches, and the colouration is subtle and natural in effect. Siljan Birch is an attractive decor for commercial applications.
Shagbark Hickory
The desire for unusual effects is reflected in Shagbark Hickory, a decor offering broad planking underscored by areas of sapwood. The interpretation of an American woodgrain is further characterised by clearly delineated pores and striking details. Visitors to Schattdecor's 2007 Interzum booth were highly impressed by the outstanding quality of Shagbark Hickory, as evidenced by the brisk demand for the product.
Looking back to the 2007 Interzum, Chief Sales Executive Hartwig Dickten sums up, "At some points our booth was full to bursting, despite its large size, and we were practically overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of visitors, but this was maybe because the show was four days long instead of the usual five. Whatever the case, we experienced tremendous interest in our exhibits, and in comparison to the last shows at the Cologne location were able to take in double the amount of sample requests."
