2007 ZOW Italia – Enthusiastic response to Schattdecor's new decors – Finish foil expertise underscored by Smartfoil matte/gloss effects

At Schattdecor's much-frequented 90-square-metre booth at the ZOW Italia, Franco Lozza, Sales Director at Schattdecor s.r.l., and his highly capable team showcased 33 decors to prospects and customers from Italy and other countries. The sixteen new decors put on display alongside ten designs especially created for the Italian market all met with an enthusiastic response.
Aberdeen Cherry, a newly-designed decor presented in two colourways, called forth particular interest, while Laricio Pine proved to be especially popular with the Italian customers. A strong impression was also made by two other new decors, namely Coburg Oak and Salisbury Oak.

Aberdeen Cherry
The decor Aberdeen Cherry is particularly characterised by a harmonious overall look and subtle sapwood inclusions. The flowing texture makes an upmarket impression, while the subtle figuring adds a touch of liveliness. The play of colour is distinctly elegant.

Laricio Pine
Laricio Pine comes with a pronounced 3D effect thanks to its wire brushed look. The fine straight lines of the closely-grained texture are underscored by striking colouration, while occasional irregularities in the linear graining add a touch of liveliness. The clarity of the decor suits it admirably to current trends in furniture design.

Salisbury Oak
American oak acted as the inspiration for Salisbury Oak, which offers straight-grained material in varied planking widths. The particularly conspicuous pores underscore the linear graining.

Coburg Oak
With its narrow sections of splintwood, Coburg Oak is a new interpretation of a classic woodgrain, whereby fine poring and a hint of movement in the predominantly straight-grained texture lend the decor a clear modern look. Occasional figuring adds a lively touch.

Recalling the 2007 ZOW Italia, Franco Lozza, Sales Director at Schattdecor's Italian subsidiary, states, "Since its establishment in 2001, the Pordenone show has become an important event for Schattdecor, and this year we were again able to welcome a growing number of visitors, particularly from European countries. Our decors were a source of inspiration to many of our important customers, and on Saturday, the last day of the event, we were rushed off our feet, providing customers and sales prospects with advice and information until the last minute".
Referring to Laricio Pine, Michela Avancini, who is responsible for design and product development at Schattdecor's Rosate subsidiary, remarks, "Although the very fine and thus upmarket grain composition of this new decor was bound to appeal to Italian tastes, the extremely positive response it called forth nevertheless took us a bit by surprise".
In a demonstration of its resolve to capture a larger share of the market segment, the world's largest manufacturer of pre-impregnated paper-based finish foil also presented new additions to its Smartfoil collection at the Pordenone event. Customers from south European markets in particular were especially impressed by the distinctive Smartfoil decors with intriguing matte/gloss effects.
