Schattdecor has had a sales office in Curitiba, Brazil, since 1999, and in order to gain a further foothold on the Brazilian market, acquired the foil manufacturer Pertec in Embu in July 2003. In the process it took over committed and enthusiastic employees, who helped to entirely reform the finish foil operations and introduce the production of decor paper. 
Work began on a new plant in Sao José dos Pinhais in 2005, and relocation of production to the new site was completed in early 2006. It is thanks in part to the living Schattdecor corporate culture that many production workers have made the move from Embu to São José dos Pinhais, thus ensuring a smooth transition at the new location.
